About Me

David Weinberg was born in the United States in 1954. He studied chemistry and geology at Boston University. After graduation in 1978, he worked as a well site geologist on petroleum exploration wells in New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan. An interest in gems and minerals led to further studies at the GIA (Gemological Insitute of America) in New York, where he completed the graduate gemologist program in 1981.

Thailand has been his home for the last 25 years and he has been involved in many aspects of the trading and cutting of both natural and synthetic gemstones. He is a major share holder and partner at Multicolour Gems Co. Ltd. and frequently travels to buy gemstones throughout Asia and Africa. Mr. Weinberg developed the first Multicolour.com website which has been successfully selling gemstones online for over 10 years. He is married, his wife for over 20 years is Thai, and they have two daughters who are currently studying abroad.
